This year´s eagerly awaited GIVC news delighted the 180 travel advisors at the Karisma 2019 GIVC Awards. Every year Karisma Hotels and Resorts in association with Grupo Lomas bring leading travels sales advisors together at El Dorado Royale for education, networking and honors.
There were several key takeaways at the GIVC 2019 Sales and Marketing Forum and Awards. Most importantly, Karisma Hotels and Resorts and Grupo Lomas announced growth opportunities for travel advisors for 2020 and beyond.

Palafitos Inventory will grow by 200%
Firstly, Karisma Hotels & Resorts’ Overwater Palafitos at El Dorado Maroma has been a popular sell for travel advisors ever since it debuted in Mexico in 2016. And from 2022, agents can expect twice as many to sell!
Dolores Lopez Lira, Co-Owner of Grupo Lomas announced that Palafitos inventory will increase from 30 to 60 suites. Groundbreaking will take place in 2021 and the suites will officially open by as early as 2022.
GIVC News – Karisma bets big on Margaritaville
Secondly, Mandy Chomat, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer at Karisma Hotels & Resorts, announced there will be likely be six Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma hotels opening in the Caribbean and Mexico by 2021. He said a seventh will open soon thereafter.
There are currently three Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma hotels that are in the planning stages. Two more are planned for the Riviera Maya. Meanwhile, construction recently broke ground for a Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma in the Cap Cana resort area in the Dominican Republic. Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma Cap Cana will open in 2021, Chomat said.
Similarly, the fourth and fifth Margaritaville Island Reserve by Karisma will most likely be in Jamaica. Chomat said one will be located at the Sugar Cane resort development in Ocho Rios and the other will be in Negril.
The GIVC 2019 Awards – Travel Advisor Reaction
Agents and advisors attended from the USA, Canada, Mexico and the UK. Noteworthy, with new inventory and new experiential brands coming their way, agents reacted very positively to the news.
“The event really helps my Karisma sales because it gives Romance Travel Designers the opportunity to experience new and existing hotels first hand,” said Tom Brussow, president at Romance Travel Designers in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Anthony Tucker, VP and general manager at the All-Inclusive Outlet in Georgetown Kentucky says; “Karisma is betting really hard on the Margaritaville brand and I think it will pay off.” Additionally, what they are doing with the new concept of luxury without pretense will be very successful with the multigenerational market.”
