Coba Sunset

Riviera Maya
Duration

Description of Coba Sunset

First you will visit the pyramid of Coba which is the tallest in the Yucatan Peninsula with its amazing height, as it is located in the middle of the majestic Mayan jungle and surrounded by beautiful lagoons. The tour is guided through the ruins by bicycle or bike-taxi (the bike-taxi is a tricycle in which a person takes you through the trails of Coba) which makes it unique. All the time a guide certified by the INAH (National Institute of Anthropology and History) will be with you. He will show you 2 Ballgame sites, 2 Pyramids, the observatory, and several very important stelae, among other structures.

After the bike or rickshaw tour of Coba, visit a Mayan Village where you will participate in a pottery workshop where the guide will teach you the techniques of Mayan pottery (the material is included and you can take your souvenir piece). You will also meet Melipona bees endemic to the region and you will be able to taste a tortilla made by hand by Mayan women. Or you can choose to swim in an impressive ancestral cenote cavern to fill yourself with energy.

At the end of the activities, we meet for dinner in front of the main lagoon of Coba with a delicious buffet of typical food from the region that offers chicken or pibil pork, rice, beans, spaghetti, salad and homemade desserts. Includes red wine, white wine or flavored water. You can add lobster to your menu. During dinner you will witness a representation made by authentic Mayans which is based on a passage from the Mayan sacred book Popol Vuh, in which the mythical divine twins defeat the lord of the underworld in the ball game.
