EK BALAM: The city of Ek Balam dates back more than a thousand years and was one of the main capitals of the Mayan world. Founded by a character named Ek Balam, hence its name, around 300 B.C. Its main ruler Ukit Kan Lek Tok was the one who gave it its splendor, commissioning buildings with murals and facades with impressive details that endure today, such as those of his tomb in the main building. Enjoy the magnificent view from the top of its main building and live a unique experience.
CULTURAL STOPPING ROOM: After touring the archaeological site, we make a cultural stop where you will appreciate crafts in the stone workshop where you will see the artisan create them, you will try corn tortillas handmade by Mayan women, you will taste Xtabentun, a typical regional drink and you will receive a blessing from a Mayan shaman. Here you will taste a delicious menu of varied regional Mexican food dishes in the Yucatan style. SWIMMING IN A MAYAN CENOTE: To finish this incredible adventure, you will enjoy a refreshing swim in an ancient cenote. These were and are sources of water for the people of the region. Fill yourself with energy in this mystical place. In this impressive cenote you will be able to enjoy the extreme with its impressive rappel with which you will descend inside if you decide to live this adventure.
