We'll begin our tour by visiting the market in the beautiful colonial city of Valladolid. We'll walk among the colorful and aromatic stalls of their fruits and vegetables, interact with the local people, and see a glimpse of their daily lives.
Then, we'll take a panoramic tour of the historic center of this incredible colonial city and continue our adventure to the majestic archaeological site of Ek Balam. Ek Balam is a Yucatec Mayan name that translates as "bright star jaguar." Ek Balam's most important cultural period was during the Late Classic Period, 700?1000 AD.
It is the architecture and design of "The Tower," and the decoration of Ek Balam's builders and artists, who used stucco mortar and limestone, a flexible material that can be molded into different shapes and painted, that makes it so special, spectacular, and unique. Once we've finished the visit, it's time to cool off in an incredible freshwater cenote and enjoy a delicious buffet of typical regional food.
